The Symposium on Art Empowering the Urban and Rural Construction of Qingdao West Coast New Area Held at Tsinghua (Qingdao) Academy of Arts and Science Innovation Research
On the afternoon of November 21, 2023, CHEN Xue, organizational member of the Party Working Committee of Lingshanwei Sub-district, Qingdao West Coast New Area, ZHAO Jun, Head of the Talent Theme Creation Workshop of Qingdao West Coast New Area Cultural Center, LIU Chunhua, Head of the Culture and Tourism Department of of Lingshan Island Nature Reserve Management Committee, Qingdao West Coast New Area, and the community Party secretaries of Lingshanwei Sub-district visited Tsinghua (Qingdao) Academy of Arts and Science Innovation Research (TASA) for investigation and research, and participated in the Symposium on Art Empowering the Urban and Rural Construction of Qingdao West Coast New Area. LIU Weidong, Secretary of the Party Branch and Assistant to the President of Tsinghua (Qingdao) Academy of Arts and Science Innovation Research, attended the symposium.
Before the symposium, the delegation visited the International Design Industry Laboratory and the Art and Science Experience Center, and visited the "Sowing and Sprouting, Ripening and Harvesting-Special Exhibition for the Anniversary of the Founding of the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University" and "Where Art Meets Science · A Better Future is Created" International Art & Science Collaborative Innovation Works Exhibition held by TASA. The team from TASA introduced to the delegation the founding philosophy of TASA and its outstanding achievements in the integration and innovation of art and science.
At the symposium, LIU Weidong welcomed the delegation. He said that as TASA is located in Lingshanwei, it will give full play to the comprehensive disciplinary advantages of the university, pay attention to the complementary advantages in the interaction with local governments, serve local industries, use artistic means to empower urban and rural development, and contribute to the construction of a beautiful countryside in Qingdao West Coast New Area.
CHEN Xue, an organizational member of the Party Working Committee of Lingshanwei Sub-district, Qingdao West Coast New Area, introduced the historical and cultural background of Lingshanwei and the conditions of each community in the sub-district. She said that Lingshanwei Sub-district is located in the core development area of Qingdao West Coast New Area and represents the future development height of the New Area in cultural tourism, art, science and technology. She hoped to conduct multi-dimensional exchanges and interactions with TASA to contribute art elements to the high quality development of Lingshanwei Sub-district.
ZHAO Jun, Head of the Talent Theme Creation Workshop of Qingdao West Coast New Area Cultural Center, pointed out that art empowering rural construction is a hot topic at present. He hoped to invite the design team of TASA and related experts to participate in the interview program created for talent in the West Coast New Area, and to interpret changes in rural revitalization and urban renewal from the perspective of art combining with life and technology.
CHEN Xubin, the inheritor of Zhuzihan culture and ceramic culture in Huangdao District, said that ICH inheritors are a new force. He hoped to carry out exchanges and learning with TASA, and strengthen the transformation and promotion of intangible cultural heritage works through cooperation in cultural and creative products.
The symposium concluded successfully in a pleasant and friendly atmosphere. All parties discussed cooperation in aspects such as rural revitalization and Party building culture.
